As Yakima Valley's viticulture has matured over the last three decades and its winemaking prospered, many Yakima Valley wineries have cropped up to quick acclaim. The Washington State wine industry continues to grow, it is a must to visit the Yakima Valley often not only to taste your favorites but to see which new wines and wineries have joined the charming Yakima Valley wine country. With over 50 member wineries, Yakima Valley Tourism has the most winery members of any trade association in the Yakima Valley and is the fourth largest in Washington state.

Yakima Wine Area
Begin your wine tasting adventure in the Yakima area, home to both downtown tasting rooms and rural wineries surrounded by rolling vineyards. Enjoy the local night life as you taste your way through downtown tasting rooms. Then, head up to the Naches Heights AVA and enjoy scenic views of Cowiche Canyon before heading through Union Gap for premier sparkling wines and more.

Zillah and the Rattlesnake Hills Wine Area
This unique wine region, that includes the Rattlesnake Hills, boasts ridgetop vineyards at more than 3,000 feet in elevation. All that altitude makes for excellent water drainage, helping growers produce world-class grapes. With 1,800 vine acres and 17 wineries, this region specializes in cabernet sauvignon, malbec, merlot, syrah, chardonnay and riesling.

Prosser Wine Area
The birthplace of the Washington wine industry, this quaint town is home to more than 30 wineries, 12 of which are within walking distance of each other. Adjacent to a lovely green space, it's the perfect place for an afternoon of sipping and a picnic. Leave time to explore surrounding wineries and visit the picturesque historic downtown.

Red Mountain Wine Area
At 4,540 acres, Red Mountain is one of the smallest and warmest wine grape growing regions in Washington State. A combination of diverse geology, a gentle southern slope, consistent winds and a complex mixture of the most rare and highly valued soil types allow this intimate growing region to produce red wine grapes that are highly prized for creating wines of superb concentration and depth.
