7:30 p.m. Join the Yakima Symphony Orchestra at The Capitol Theatre for classical music concert series. The centerpiece of our season is Scheherazade & Other Remarkable Women. Anchoring this program is the orchestral masterpiece Scheherazade by Rimsky-Korsakov, featuring YSO concertmaster Denise Dillenbeck. Another remarkable woman of the YSO, Angelique Poteat, will be featured as both clarinet soloist and composer, performing the Copland Clarinet Concerto and a world premiere composition of her own. The program begins with music by Fanny Mendelssohn, the highly talented sister of Felix.
