Yakima Valley College Playmasters presents The Laramie Project. Performances will be held May 23-25, 2019 & May 31-June 1, 2019 at 7:30 pm and June 2, 2019 at 2 pm in Kendall Hall, Building 12, Auditorium. General admission tickets can be purchased in advance online at the price of $10 at: https://yvcthelaramieproject.brownpapertickets.com/. Discounted student and senior tickets sold at the box office before the performance are $5 with valid student ID. The Laramie Project is the acclaimed 2000 play by Moisés Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theatre Project about the reaction to the 1998 murder of gay University of Wyoming student Matthew Shepard in Laramie, Wyoming. The murder was denounced as a hate crime and brought attention to the lack of hate crime laws in Wyoming and elsewhere.
